Portion of Profits to do GOOD!

A portion of profits from the sale of my book will go towards things like SOS (Supplies Orphan Supplies) and D4A (Dimes for Adoption). These aren’t “actual” charities… More of something I do on the side that I made up!

Simply stated – SOS is for helping Orphans in Russia and D4A is for adoption. See Below 4 More!

Surprise Orphan Supplies

It started my senior year of High School.  I would save all the money I could and for Christmas I would get things for Russian Orphanages. I made over a hundred fleece blankets, got stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons and even made cards in Russian for the children. I had an awesome marketing teacher that has a huge heart and was always helping anyone and everyone. She was a huge inspiration to me which made me want to help that much more. She knew of a few Orphanages in Russia that were legit and that my donated items would be perfect for. I always thought it would be cool to go to Russia to adopt our children and see our new child holding on to an old torn up bear, one of the ones I donated to the orphanage.   I had been paying hundreds of dollars to buy all of these things but didn’t care about the price. Sometimes I was fortunate to have help in making the blankets.

Now that I have gotten closer to publishing my first book I plan to have a percentage of my book sales go towards SOS to buy more surprises and supplies for orphans. I like to keep an eye out for things that are on sale and in bulk that I can get to donate. If anyone has any comments or suggestions on the subject I would love to hear them!

Dimes for Adoption

I have wanted to adopt children from Russia for as long as I can remember. When I was seventeen I started saving dimes, weird collection hey? My friends and family knew of my dime-obsession and would hand over a few if they came across any.  To date I  probably have over $450 in dimes alone, as well as other spare change I began saving recently. Adoptions are expensive – especially foreign adoptions.  I was so lucky to find a husband that shared my thoughts on adopting children from other countries. Anytime we get change or find change – it goes right to our Dimes for Adoption jar :) We have quite a long way to go (as it currently costs about 20-40k per child) but we thought it was a good reason to save all our extra coins. Got any spare change? ;)
